The Currituck County Master Gardener℠ Speakers Bureau is hosting a FREE container gardening demonstration presented by esteemed landscaper Marie Mims Butler, titled: Contain your Gardening Enthusiasm. For more information, a brief biography and words from our guest speaker can be found below.
Bio: It may be hard to believe, but Marie Mims Butler has been gardening for over 50 of her “29” years. Her horticultural career launched at N.C. State and has included teaching at the school for the blind, designing residential and commercial landscapes, studying and teaching floral design in Japan, and presiding over the gardens of the Virginia Zoo as Landscape Coordinator. These days, Marie travels the country as a Regional Director for GardenComm, an association for garden communicators, and shares her love of horticulture with everyone.
CONTAIN YOUR GARDENING ENTHUSIASM: Tired of the same old leggy geraniums in a clay pot? It’s time to expand your horticultural horizons. Container plantings can hang, sit, or swim; feed birds, bees, butterflies, and body as well as soul; blend riotous or single colors; celebrate a season or combine to create a scene. Welcome to the wide world of gardening… all in a flower pot!
Join us at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, at the Currituck County Center, 120 Community Way, Barco, NC. Register online for this free presentation using the link below: https://containergardeningmay2022.eventbrite.com.
