It is time to show your 4-H spirit! National 4-H Week is a week-long celebration to recognize the nation’s largest youth development organization. This year’s celebration will start on Sunday, October 1st and go through Saturday, October 7th. First started as rural corn and canning clubs, 4-H now offers youth in towns, on farms, and in big cities the opportunity to participate in everything from robotics and shooting sports to animal projects and public speaking.
Currituck County 4-H is celebrating by hosting a 4-H Spirit Week on our various social media channels. Each day, be on the lookout for a challenge to be posted and respond with your comments and photos. Follow @Currituck4H on Facebook and @CurrituckCES on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and show your 4-H spirit! You don’t have to be a Currituck County 4-H member to participate. Let us know where you were involved.
Below is a preview of the challenges:
- Sunday, October 1st – Service Sunday
- Put your “hands to larger service” and give back to your community. Let us know how it goes by posting a comment or photo.
- Monday, October 2nd – Memory Monday
- Share your favorite 4-H memory or photo.
- Tuesday, October 3rd – Tag them Tuesday
- Tag your 4-H friends or 4-H leader.
- Wednesday, October 4th – Wear it Wednesday
- Show your 4-H spirit and wear your 4-H green!
- Thursday, October 5th – Throwback Thursday
- Post a picture from your past 4-H activities.
- Friday, October 6th – Favorite Friday
- Tell us about your favorite 4-H project activity.
- Saturday, October 7th – Show up Saturday
- Come join us at the Planes and Plows Festival held at the Currituck County Airport in Barco. Stop by our 4-H booth and sign the 4-H clover.
We can’t wait to see your 4-H spirit! Currituck County 4-H is always looking for new members and volunteer leaders. If you are interested in joining 4-H or have questions about any of our program areas, please contact Sherry Fischlschweiger or Stephanie Minton at 252-232-2261.
