Pesticide license holders with North Carolina Private Pesticide Applicator licenses set to expire in 2024 need to receive 2 hours of X credit and 2 hours of V credit by the NCDA&CS cut-off date of Sept. 30th, 2024. License holders have 3 years to receive their credits and can search the Dept. of Agriculture’s website or call the Extension office to check how many credits you have for the current license period. Before the end of the current cycle, we will be holding one X credit opportunity and one V credit opportunity at the Extension center located at 120 Community Way in Barco. Please register for one or more of these private applicator events.

Private Applicator ‘V’ Training.

Join us on Tuesday, July 16th from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center for our last ‘V’ credit opportunity of the year. This training will cover the V credit portion of the private applicator license which is required every three years. This will be presented by Chris Hassell, NCDA&CS Pesticide Inspector.

2024 Northeast Ag Expo.

This year’s summer Expo will be held in Perquimans County at TBS Farms, 1178 Lake Rd, Hertford, NC on July 25th, from 7:45 – 1:00 p.m. Test plots will focus on soybean and corn production. The event will start with a trade show, followed by educational tours of the research plots and grain bin economics. The event will finish with a catered lunch. Attendees will receive two hours of N, O, D, & X pesticide credits. Register for our summer field day to let us know you’re coming!

Private Applicator ‘X’ Training.

On Tuesday, July 30th, we’ll offer our last ‘X’ credit opportunity for 2024. Join us from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center to get your last pesticide credits for this license period. This training also offers credits for multiple commercial applicator categories. Call the Currituck County Center at 252-232-2261 for more information.

Private Applicator Fumigation ‘ZSF’ Training.

Immediately following the Private Applicator ‘X’ Training on July 30th from 11:00 – Noon, we’ll hold a Private Applicator Fumigation Training. This training fulfills the credit requirements for private applicator license holders who have a fumigation category (ZSF). This training does NOT provide credits for commercial applicators with a fumigation category. For questions or concerns, please call the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center.
