The North Carolina State Extension, Currituck County Center is proud to announce the appointment of Lindsay Asbury to the North Carolina State Extension Advisory Council. This appointment strengthens our mission to be the trusted resource that connects cutting-edge research and education with the communities, economies, and families of our state, fostering prosperity for all North Carolinians.
Lindsay, a highly respected Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteer of Currituck County and community advocate, brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to advocating with government and community leaders. She will play a crucial role in promoting program impacts, developing resources, and serving as a vital liaison between County Advisory Councils and State Administrators. With her proven track record in promoting community engagement, economic prosperity and enhancing the quality of life for individuals and families in Currituck, Lindsay is exceptionally well-positioned to make a meaningful contribution to our state-level advisory efforts.
As a County Extension Advisory Member, Lindsay has been instrumental in shaping the strategic direction of our county’s extension programs, offering invaluable insights, recommendations, and support. These initiatives span critical areas such as agriculture, youth development, family and consumer sciences, and community outreach. We are thrilled to have Lindsay continue to work with us on county issues while now serving at the state level.
Ms. Asbury shared, “As a member of the NC State Extension State Advisory Council, I look forward to the opportunity to advocate with government and community leaders, promote program impacts, and ensure the relevance of Extension programming to meet local needs.”
