Description:

The 2021 4-H Youth Gardening program will provide hands-on, informative and imaginative activities for youth of all ages, with new activities each month.  This workshop, Have You Ever Made a Topiary? is a hands-on gardening activity for youth ages 10-14, on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 4pm.  The workshop will last approximately 1.5 hours. Together, we will learn about topiaries, what they do, and how to start and care for one.  Then, each participant will design their own topiary, make a frame from clothes hanger wire, and put together their own topiary planted with ivy.

Gardening is a healthy, fun activity for children!  Young people that participate in gardening activities develop new skills, learn about science and nature, learn about where their food comes from and expand their creativity and imagination.

The cost of this workshop is $8.00 and will include all needed supplies and materials.  This event will be at the N.C. Cooperative Extension - Currituck Center, 120 Community Way, Barco, NC.

To register, please visit https://have-you-ever-made-a-topiary.eventbrite.com.   Registration is not complete until 4honline enrollment is submitted.  Be sure to check out online learning opportunities offered by N.C. Cooperative Extension in Currituck by visiting our website at currituck.ces.ncsu.edu
