Description:

Corolla Wild Horse Farm will be hosting two 4-H horse camps for ages 10 -14 to educate youth on the corolla wild horse herd.

Youth will learn how they rescue, observe, identify the wild horses on the beach by:

Touring of the Rescue facility, learning how they prep for an emergency, filling out wild horse observation sheets, finding GPS coordinates where the horses are, and teaching horse behavior cues.

Grooming, Haltering, and leading a formally Corolla Wild Banker Horse Learning basic first aid, and checking horse’s vitals, ( Breathing, Pulse, and Temperature). Charting DNA, Checking the teeth for age

Going on a treasure hunt identifying horse markings and learning about the unique colors of the Corolla Wild Banker Horses, and most importantly talk about the Historical Significance of the State Horse of North Carolina. Camp time will be 9am -12pm.

This is not a riding camp so no riding will be done.
