Description:

N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center will present a workshop for both professionals and homeowners who want to learn how to properly prune their ornamental trees and shrubs. Due to popular demand, two courses are offered, Thursday, February 15th from 9:00 to 10:45 A.M. or Saturday, March 2nd from 10:00 to 11:30 A.M. Register online for either workshop at Pruning Trees and Shrubs.

The workshop will cover when, why, and how to prune; tree assessment, proper cuts, developing good branching habits, looking for defects, and correcting problems. Working on real trees in the field will help participants improve these important skills.  We will host a lecture followed by an in-person, hands-on portion to the class, where participants will have an opportunity to prune a tree or shrub on the premises, with staff available to assist you every step of the way! We have a limited number of pruning saws available for use, so please bring your own if possible.

For more information or accommodations for persons with disabilities please contact Chris Blaha at 252-232-2261, or email ctblaha@ncsu.edu no later than ten business days before the event.
